How soon after C-section can I do exercises?

C-section is a major surgical procedure and adequate time is required for recuperation. However as soon as the wound heals well enough and abdominal discomfort is barely noticeable, mild to moderate exercise can be commenced so far it doesn’t hamper breast feeding and it’s not excessive enough to disrupt the healing abdominal wall and inflict unbearable pain. The period for these to occur may however vary amongst individuals and depends on the presence or absence of complications such as wound infection, pre pregnancy history of exercise, obesity, inactivity, and self motivation. More importantly, exercises following a C-section should be commenced gradually with care taken not to indulge in excessive strenuous activities very early after the surgery.
