What are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy?

An ectopic pregnancy just like any other pregnancy is initially symptomless and associated with the following

  • Weeks or months of missed periods

  • As soon as the pregnancy being an abnormal one starts to fail, bleeding may occur from the vagina.

Those two statements are usually true of unruptured ectopic pregnancies. Once it ruptures, it becomes an emergency and may present with the following symptoms:

  • Sharp and stabbing abdominal pain that radiates or spread to the shoulder
  • Weakness

  •  Dizziness

  • Vomitting

  • Dairrhoea

  • Fainting or collapse

Occasionally when the site of rupture is tiny and the bleeding occurs at a very small rate, patient may present with a less insidous onset of abdominal pain that is gradually increasing and less dramatic than above. For more information, kindly CHAT WITH OUR CONSULTANTS.
