Hi, I am 23 years old. I have had 2 ectopic pregnancies last year. I really want a child but I fear to? Please what are my options?

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your travails. As expected, it is normal to feel anxious after passing through these experience. While the chances of having a normal pregnancy after one previous ectopic pregnancy is about 50 to 60%, the chances of having a repeat ectopic pregnancy after one previous ectopic pregnancy is about 10 to 15% compared to about 1 to 2% in the general population. But after a second ectopic pregnancy, the chances of getting pregnant naturally is only a meagre probability of about 4% with an 80 to 90% chance of it being an ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, looking at these statistics, it is quite obvious that after 2 previous ectopic pregnancies, there is a far higher chance of difficulty in conceiving due to bilateral tubal damage  from the two previous ectopic pregnancies than any chance of conceiveing naturally; which in the unlikely event of one, is most likely to end up being an ectopic pregnancy. However, considering your age, you do have a very high chance of conceiving successfully with the help of an in-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer, hence I will like to CHAT WITH OUR CONSULTANTS for a proper consultation and counselling.
